Today is Africa Day, when the founding of the Organisation of Africa Unity is commemorated. The theme this year is “Harnessing the Demographic Dividend through Investment in Youth.” The youngest of the world’s continents, Africa also has the highest level of youth unemployment. We explore how countries on the Continent will make the best use of its demographics, if politics remains an impediment to progress and why trade between Malaysia and African nations is tepid.
