Top 5 at 5: APAD Probes KLIA's Aerotrain Troubles

After 19 breakdowns since its relaunch in July, and another just yesterday that left passengers walking on the tracks, Malaysia Airports Holdings is now under investigation. We speak with Shukor Yusof, founder of Endau Analytics, on what this means for public transport accountability at KLIA.

Other stories we covered:

• Malaysia-US trade deals under scrutiny: New trade agreements signed at the ASEAN Summit have sparked concerns over sovereignty and transparency with critics calling them an “act of surrender.” We unpack the debate with Carmelo Ferlito, CEO of the Center for Market Education.

• Malaysia's war on sugar tightens: Drinks with the highest sugar content will soon be banned from advertising under a new Nutri-Grade labelling system. But will labels alone change behaviour? We speak with Associate Prof Dr Wong Jyh Eiin, Head of the Nutrition Science Programme at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

• The ceasefire that never was?: Fresh Israeli strikes on Gaza, killing seven, including two children, have reignited questions about the US-brokered ceasefire. We hear from experts Julia Roknifard, a Senior Lecturer at the School of Law and Governance at Taylor's University, as well as Peter Beattie, Professor of global political economy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong on what this means for peace and US diplomacy.

• Can robots solve the care crisis?: As the UK tests robots to cook, clean, and care for the elderly, we discuss whether machines can truly replace human caregivers, and what lessons countries like Malaysia can learn as our population ages.
