Eight months after the Kampung Baru masterplan was launched, the project still remains in dispute. Some residents are unhappy over the 43 billion ringgit redevelopment plan, saying its character and history would be erased. And they’re contesting the price offered for their homes. Shamsuri Suradi from the Kampung Baru Malay Agricultural Settlement Board and Elizabeth Cardosa, executive director of Badan Warisan discuss some of the issues and concerns raised.
