Morning Brief
Bitcoin, along with the rest of the digital currency market, continued to rally as Donald Trump is set to be sworn in as the 47th President of the U.S. in about two weeks. His pro-crypto Cabinet has led analysts to project Bitcoin will double its current value in 2025. However, how realistic are these expectations, given that digital tokens are no strangers to crashes and volatile movements? For some thoughts on this, we’ll be speaking with Andy Baehr, Managing Director and Head of Product at CoinDesk Indices.
Top Story
Khazanah Research Institute (KRI) released a paper last week that said the pre-existing income classes used by the government - B40/M40/T20 - no longer reflected economic realities in Malaysia. Instead, KRI is advocating for the income classifications of B20/M50/T30 to be implemented instead, but in what ways exactly did the old classification fall short, and can this new one help the government better distribute aid to the people?

Recent incidents, such as an investigation into four officers for approving unfit vehicles and the tragic Ayer Keroh accident caused by a detached wheel, highlight the need for improvements in the system. We'll discuss these issues further with the Transport Consultant, Wan Agyl Wan Hassan.
