Marianne Tan

Acting whether on the big screen or even the small screen is a dream for many. The well beaten path is via acting academies and learning first hand on the stage; but for young Marianne Tan, she made her big leap to serious acting via Youtube films.

Marianne was studying Digital Animation back in 2010 and having had no prior experience or teaching, Marianne surprised many directors with her strong effort in researching and studying for her characters - even if it’s for a short three-minute video for Youtube.

She landed her first role on Youtube for TheMingThing’s Alone Forever video in February 2012. Things really started to go well for Marianne when she was picked for a lead role in Unfold, the popular Youtube film series by JinnyboyTV in June of that year. As her popularity increased, Marianne started to appear in more films, advertorials and music videos.

For 2015, the director of The Journey, Chiu Keng Guan has picked Marianne for his new movie Ola Bola. The story of how the Malaysian football team managed to get into the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. The film will be released sometime in 2016. Until then, Marianne will be busy with her art illustration work and her own cafe, The Morningwood.

For the record, Marianne scored 16!
