One might be hard-pressed these days to find a place as unique as Chong Kok Kopitiam. Previously run as China Hotel since 1940, the kopitiam is today a favourite haunt for many locals, and a fascinating destination for tourists. True to its 'muhibah' nature, Chong Kok is frequented by patrons of all ethnicities, an interesting contrast to the origin of its name. We chat with the establishment's third-generation owner Mr. Foo as he regales us with tales of Chong Kok, and his plans and visions for this historical and cultural gem of a place. 'Kopi O satu! Roti Bakar dua!!'
