Scrapped Subsidies Hiking Up More Than Just Diesel Prices

Richard, Ali, and Daniel get into the story everyone's talking about this week: the diesel subsidy reforms that have caused diesel prices to increase more than 50% overnight. We unpack the knock on-effects that businesses and logistic services will pass down to customers, as stories of a tow truck company's announcement of price increases and a kopitiam increasing the price of kopi by 50 sen, both citing the scrap in subsidies, have gone viral.

But first, some auto highlights of the week in the region, from BMW Malaysia's new 5 Series, the new full electric Chinese car brand on the block - Zeekr, and the cars getting the hydrogen-powered treatment - the Toyota Hilux and the Honda CRV e.

And finally, Daniel puts us in the driver's seat of the head-turning, brand new 2024 Maserati GranTurismo, which marks the return of a Maserati icon.
