After 124 years, Karate is finally making its debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Syakilla Salni, the Malaysian Kumite fighter gives us the scoop into the karate world. She unveils the many obstacles she faced in getting to the Olympics - from internal politics, lack of funding, bad training locations, difficulties adapting to different coaching styles, and more.

Even after quitting the national team late last year and missing many tournaments deemed vital to quality for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Syakilla is still hopeful and devoted to represent Malaysia on the international stage. BFM’s Sabrina Magdelene, uncovers.
