Bond Trading Playlist

This week’s episode brings Kam Raslan, Julian Yap and Ali Johan together to talk about trading in Southeast Asia and James Bond themed tunes. Kam brings forth the hustle and bustle of trading in Southeast Asia in the 1600s which is essentially a metropolitan. Mainstream history has always painted Southeast Asians as victims and rural farmers who need to be saved by civilisations and systems. When in actuality, The Malays were urbanites who actively engaged with the world. Next, with the Covid-19 outbreak, the latest Bond movie’s release is put on hold. So the trio take a trip down memory lane with 007’s tunes and discuss the evolution of the OST. From Duran Duran, Nancy Sinatra, Adele, Billie Eilish and everything else in between.

Produced by: Ali Johan
