Malaysia's Energy Trilemma As We Phase out Coal Plants

Malaysia is planning to phase out its coal-fired power plants, reducing them to 50% by 2035 and complete retirement  by 2044. But with comes higher energy cost. How then should the government balance economic growth with environmental sustainability during this transition whilst ensuring that there is energy security? Dhana Raj Markandu, Senior Analyst, Institute for Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia tells us.
