The Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) published its first Cost of Living Indicators report for 2023, which contains data on the basic expenditure required for a decent standard of living. We ask Prof. Calvin Cheong, Vice Dean and Deputy Dean of Education at Sunway Business School for his views on this report and how it can help craft government policy.
