After 3 decades at Bank Negara, deputy governor Dr Sukhdave Singh announced yesterday his sudden retirement, effective Dec 31, 2017. A surprise as his term was only set to end in April 2019. Assistant Governor Jessica Chew Cheng Lian has been appointed to take over the position for a three-year term effective Jan 1.
