In the 2024 Budget Speech, the Prime Minister proposed a new law for urban renewal, with the bill expected to be tabled this year. However, this Urban Renewal Act, currently open for public consultation is not without its controversies. Dr. Suraya Ismail, Director of Research at Khazanah Research Institute, tells us about how to ensure the interests of all stakeholders are protected.
