Exposing Wang Kelian

S. Arulldas, Former Journalist, Malay Mail

18-Feb-19 09:30

Exposing Wang Kelian

We talk to Arulldas on his efforts together with photographer, Sayuti Zainudin, on being one of the first to visit and report about Wang Kelian on March 9, 2015 in the Malay Mail. He shares with us his experience on how they discovered and broke the story. We also discuss his experience - that spans over decades - covering human rights stories.

Arulldas and photographer Sayuti won two awards in 2015 - An Outstanding Reporting by Human Rights Commission of Malaysia and Best Investigative Report by the Malaysian Press Institute-Petronas Awards. This was for exposing the migrant prison camps and the mass graves in Wang Kelian.
