Racing to Get Ahead

00:40 - Retrenched workers and fresh graduates are now fighting it out for high-skilled jobs which are not growing as fast as low-skilled ones. Between 2010 and 2017, the number of degree holders in the workforce has increased by an average of more than 170,000 people per year.

09:43 - Tun Daim Zainuddin has expressed confidence that the East Coast Rail Link’s (ECRL) price tag of 44 billion ringgit could see a further reduction. The original contract costs RM65.5 billion which saw a saving of RM21.5 billion.

11:37 - Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the government intends to bring back the Formula One (F1) race to Malaysia to stimulate Malaysians to enter the automotive industry. The prime minister believes that the reintroduction of the Malaysian Grand Prix would generate positive publicity for the country as well as bringing large crowds to the event.
