The Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit has been tasked with overseeing the socioeconomic development of the community since 2008. It is now under the Prime Minister's Department's purview. Former MP, Kasthuri Patto, DAP's Deputy Secretary for International Affairs, talks about MITRA's effectiveness in achieving its goals after a series of allegations of financial mismanagement.
