The latest draft of amendments to the Employment Act have dropped protections proposed for jobseekers or candidates, in a move that could open the door for discriminatory hiring practices. For more insight, we speak to Tan Heang Lee, Communications Officer, Women’s Aid Organisation, about the need for jobseeker protections, the rationale for excluding jobseekers from the amendment, and whether a stand alone law would be more effective.
