71% of the People Have Spoken

Hong Kong's district elections are normally the lowest rung of all elections but this time around, 71% of all eligible voters turned up with pro-democracy parties winning most of the seats. We ask if this is a referendum of sorts that cannot be ignored as most Hong Kongers appear to be supportive of the demonstrations that started almost 6 months ago and look set to continue into the next decade. We also discuss Carrie Lam's role as Chief Executive and whether her position looks even more vulnerable after this.
