The political tumult of the past 4 years has shifted the electoral calendar in such a way that it may be a while before we can return to concurrent elections given the staggered terms of Parliament and state assemblies. What are the implications of separate federal and state elections for the medium to long term? We discuss the changes to Malaysia's electoral cycle with elections analyst Dr. G. Manimaran.
