China's Growing Military Might

Last week, China announced that its defense expenditure in 2018 would be over 1.1 trillion yuan - that’s about 684 billion ringgit. This year’s defense budget marks an 8% increase from last year. It’s only slightly more than the 7% hike seen in 2017, but it’s possibly the largest spending in the last 3 years.
