Top 5 at 5: When Parking Disputes Go Wrong

Three residents in Cheras were fined a total of RM30,000 over disputes about parking spaces which sparked a broader discussion about the fairness of the fine and neighbourhood etiquette. Rajiv Rishyakaran, ADUN for Bukit Gasing shares his thoughts on the incident.

· Updates from Bersatu's AGM: Bersatu has concluded its seventh annual general meeting after a significant party election last month. Some topics raised in the meeting included changes in leadership, disagreements over Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's role in the party and directions for the future. Bersatu's supreme council member and ADUN for Taman Medan, Dr Afif Bahardin shares what to expect next from the party.
· SPM examinations carry on: Despite calls for the postponement of SPM for victims affected by flooding, the decision was made to have examinations carry on. We asked Alina Amir, an educator and a co-founder of Arus Academy for her thoughts on the decision made.
· Malaysia’s role in addressing Myanmar crisis: With Malaysia set to become the ASEAN chair in 2025, conversations have sparked on how Malaysia will assist in the crisis in Myanmar. We hear a clip from Beyond the Ballot Box featuring Thomas Daniel, a senior fellow at the Institute of Strategic & International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia who weighs in on the discussion.
· Popek Popek Parlimen: In today’s session, Deputy Home Minister Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah shares the improvements made to address congestion at border points which include the extension of autogate facilities and considering the usage of QR codes.
