Top 5 at 5: What Happened at Qatar's Emergency Summit?

Following Israel's airstrike on Doha, Qatar called an emergency summit with nearly 60 member states of the Arab League and Arab and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in attendance. We discuss the details of the meeting with Julie Roknifard, Senior Lecturer at the School of Law and Governance at Taylor’s University.

Other stories we covered:

• PAS contests Bersatu's PM candidate: At their Annual General Meeting, PAS leaders expressed their discontent with Bersatu's PM-candidate, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, citing his health and age. We reached out to Syaza Shukri, professor of Political Science at IIUM for her thoughts on this.

• Deadly floods and landslides hit Sabah: Heavy rainfall has led to floods in five districts with over 900 victims and 3000 evacuees. Landslides have also caused the destruction of homes and taken the lives of 12 people so far. We get some insight on the situation with Jannie Lasimbang, member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly for Kapayan.

• Jair Bolsonaro gets 27 years behind bars: The Brazilian Supreme Court has sentenced the former Brazilian president and his co-conspirators for an attempted coup to keep Bolsonaro in power, which included a plan to murder current president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. We hear from Marco Fernandes, a correspondent with Brasil de Fato, about the significance of the sentencing.

• Do the Emmy's still matter?: We discuss the prestigious award night's biggest winners and losers - and whether the event still holds cultural relevance.
