Top 5 at 5: Should You Share Your Child's Pictures Online?

‘Sharenting’, referring to parents sharing photos and videos of their children, has become common, but there have been concerns that it increases the risk of children being targeted and exploited. We spoke to Dr Sasha Mohan, head of Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) Committee at Hospital Ampang on the risks involved with ‘sharenting’ and what preventative measures could be taken.

· Two DNAAs granted: The High Court has granted discharge not amounting to an acquittal to Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and former Treasury secretary general Tan Sri Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah. Pushpan Murugiah, the CEO of the Center to Combat Corruption and Cronyism, explains this decision and and the implications that come with it.
· IP Rights for Murals: AirAsia’s unauthorised use of art from Lithuanian artist, Ernest Zacharevic has been panned by Ernest himself, who said it had been used without his consent. Intellectual property lawyer Foong Cheng Leong weighs in on this issue.
· Proposal for Malay AI Chatbot: The Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation has announced plans for a new Malay language AI chatbot with an emphasis on incorporating local values and culture. We reached out to Dr Amir Rashad Mustaffa, senior lecturer at the Department of Malaysian Languages and Applied Linguistics for his thoughts.
· Malaysian tycoon passes: Billionaire businessman Ananda Krishnan has passed away at the age of 86. Known for founding mobile operator, Maxis Bhd and broadcasting company, Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd, we pay tribute to him and his work.
