Top 5 at 5: No Social Media for Kids Under 16

Malaysia joins a long list of countries looking to restrict social media for users under 16 to strengthen online safety protection for kids. Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil expects platforms to adopt this measure by January 1st, 2026. But will this ban actually have a positive impact on the mental health of young adolescents? Clinical psychologist Dr Chua Sook Ning joins us to share her thoughts.

COP30 takeaways: This year's talks held in Belém, Brazil ended with a whimper according to observers. While there were breakthroughs with climate financing and Indigenous land rights, no headway was made in phasing out fossil fuels. We unpack these outcomes with Lakshmi Lavanya Rama Iyer, Director of Policy and Climate Change at WWF Malaysia.

Floods worsen across the country: From flash floods in Shah Alam today to rising sea levels that have caused more than 8,000 to evacuate their homes in Kelantan, we discuss how people are supposed to prepare themselves for the flooding season.

Behind Indira Gandhi's march for justice: The 1.8 km march culminated in Bukit Aman, however Indira was not able to secure a meeting with Inspector General Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail. We speak to Arun Dorasamy, lawyer and chairperson of the Indira Gandhi Action Team on why this case seems too difficult to solve and whether they are likely to meet with the IGP in the future, as promised by Deputy Law Minister M. Kulasegaran.

When Donald met Zohran: Over the weekend, US President Donald Trump and New York mayor elect Zohran Mamdani had their highly anticipated first face-to-face encounter. To the surprise of many the two leaders were extremely friendly with each other, triggering strong reactions across the political spectrum. We break it all down.
