Top 5 at 5: Aid Struggles to Reach Gaza

Concentrated efforts to restrict life-saving aid from reaching Palestinians continue, with supplies left stranded in warehouses across Egypt and Jordan, new regulations on NGOs and aid organisations that violate data protection laws, and recent attacks on the Global Sumud Flotilla convoy. We hear from Sean Carroll, President and CEO of Anera, a humanitarian relief organisation that provides aid to refugees and vulnerable groups in the Middle East about what's been happening on the ground.

Other stories we covered:

Johor to crack down on tiger poaching: After a poaching bust in Mersing uncovered a murdered Malayan tiger, authorities are planning to intensify enforcement, intelligence and surveillance in high-risk areas. We reached out to Kanitha Krishnasamy, Director of TRAFFIC Southeast Asia for potential solutions.

Tanom vs. Tenom coffee: Lim Sen Thiam, director of KK Tanom Coffee Sdn Bhd, was charged under the Geographical Indications Act for misusing a protected geographical label to indirectly refer to "Tenom Coffee” without the consent of its registered owner. Intellectual property lawyer Jessie Tan tells us why this matters.

Too many government apps?: A recent thread on X highlighted the overabundance of government-made apps available to download - 200 of them in fact. We speak to CF Fong, CEO of LGMS Berhad about how we got here, the security risks at play, and whether we have the capacity to streamline these apps.

MAS' all-women crew: The Malaysian Aviation Group recently showcased their commitment to the 25by2025 pledge with an all-women crew operating flight MH2610 from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu. We discuss gender equality in the aviation sector and the barriers that still hold women back from career progression.
