What's in the PJ Local Masterplan?

Selangor has four official cities. Petaling Jaya (PJ) is one of the biggest and most diverse. It started out as a planned satellite town for neighbouring Kuala Lumpur in the early 1950s to help ease overcrowding and provide new housing, and over the decades it grew into a major thriving urban centre and was eventually granted city status in the mid 2000s. Recently, MBPJ released their draft masterplan for the next decade and they’re currently garnering feedback from the public, specifically PJ Residents.

In this episode, we unpack the PJ masterplan with Rajiv Rishyakaran, State Assemblyman for Bukit Gasing, and Kusaaliny Mahendran, councillor, Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ)
