The Penang Island City Council is pushing for a ban on foreign cooks in all hawker stalls, food courts and coffee shops next year. This ban was initially implemented in 2016, but only covered hawker centres and food courts belonging to the city council. So we unpack whether people who cook food define it's authenticity, and ask our listeners what they feel about foreigners making Malaysian food.
