Lingo Episode #12 - Maori

Lingo is a show that’s about our relationship with language, how it goes beyond communication, and the impact it has on our lives, cultures, and traditions. If you've seen a rugby match with team New Zealand playing, then you would've seen the haka. It's a dance that's part of Maori culture and done in the Maori language. This week, we take a look at the latter. The language had seen a huge decline of speakers but recent revitalisation efforts have revived the language. We speak to Tania about the revitalisation efforts of the Maori language and its state in New Zealand today.
