Hari Ini Dalam Sejarah Dunia: Tracey Curtis-Taylor and Her Magnificent Flying Machine

In the early days of human flight women were some of its truest pioneers. If you asked them though, they would probably tell you they were just adventurous and loved flying - the same as the men who took to the air in those days. But for a woman to take to the sky, to pilot one of these newfangled flying machines in the early 20th century, took a can-do attitude that wasn't normally encouraged at the time.

On January 9th, at 7.54AM GMT, Tracey Curtis-Taylor landed her 1942 Boeing Stearman at Sydney’s international airport. She had just finished a 27,000 kilometre solo trip, across 23 countries, across 3 continents from Britain to Australia. This month, on Hari Ini Dalam Sejarah Dunia, Umapagan Ampikaipakan speaks to aviator Tracey Curtis-Taylor about her incredible journey.
