It was recently reported that false registration of prepaid SIM cards are on the rise according to the Consumer and Multimedia Consumer Forum of Malaysia (CFM). And one of the recommendations for users to stay safe when registering a prepaid SIM card is to understand that sales representatives or vendors are not required to make a copy of your MyKad. Now all this is very year 2000, in today’s digital world surely there’s a technology out there to eliminate this process. And we actually do, it’s called Mobile ID Reader and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and one local company in Malaysia is doing just that. We speak to  George Lee, CEO of Innov8tif.
