Dr Joel Low, The Mind

Braving the Terrible Lows

In an infamous tweet exchange that went viral in July this year, Eric Diepeveen, the CEO of a Dutch games company described Elon Musk’s life on Instagram as amazing and goes on to ask the Tesla and SpaceX mastermind if the ups and downs he had makes for an enjoyable life. Elon Musk responded to the tweet, saying, and I quote: “The reality is great highs, terrible lows and unrelenting stress. Don’t think people want to hear about the last two.” - unquote. The truth is, most startup founders pay a high price behind the incredible highs that comes with entrepreneurship, and this often takes a toll on the psyche of the founder themselves. We speak to a clinical psychologist Dr Joel Low about how startup founders can brave the terrible lows of entrepreneurship.
