Beyond the App Store: How Mobile Gaming and Digital Goods Are Monetising Outside the Gatekeepers

Mobile gaming is on track to become a $270 billion industry by 2032, but it’s not just the games themselves evolving. A global shift is underway as publishers look to break free from the traditional app store model, spurred by regulations like the EU’s Digital Markets Act and similar moves in Japan, Korea, and Indonesia.

In this episode of Enterprise Explores, we speak with Shane Happach, CEO of Coda, a Singapore-based payment aggregator helping publishers and digital goods providers take control of their monetisation strategies. We explore how the rise of out-of-app payments could transform the customer experience, open up new markets, and reshape how digital content is sold, from mobile games to streaming platforms and dating apps.
