Taking Organs from the Poor

The recent case of a Malaysian man turning himself into the police after an expose on his organ trafficking activities was published in the UK media, has highlighted once again how the poor are exploited as the source of organs for illegal transplants. We look at the role of poverty when it comes to illegal organ trafficking, and why it is so important to enforce the established ethical guidelines of organ donation.
