Chrissy Teigen’s Pregnancy Loss Post Sparks Discussion on Social Media Sharing

Last week, model and social media personality Chrissy Teigen shared on her social media accounts that she had lost her baby midway through pregnancy. The posts were also accompanied by grieving photos of herself, shortly after she received the tragic news. Chrissy’s decision to publicly post about the experience has drawn both praise and criticism. We look at the general culture of silence that surrounds miscarriage, and whether social media and the online space could provide a way of speaking about and coping with the grief of it.
