The Legend of Marco Polo

Eight centuries ago, when China was still very much an alien civilization to Europeans, three merchants from Venice traveled along the Silk Road through modern day Middle East and into China. One of those merchants, Marco Polo, returned 24 years later to tell his story. Before Netflix's 10-part dramatization of Marco Polo's early years premieres tomorrow, we speak to Sun Shuyun, executive producer of The Marco Polo series on Al-Jazeera.
