Deterring and Preventing Child Abuse

About 18,000 calls were made to Childline Malaysia between years 2010 and 2014, with 50% of the calls related to mental health issues such as depression, loneliness and lack of self-esteem, while 20% were related to abuse. What is the role of child helplines in preventing child-related social issues in the country? We speak to Datin PH Wong of Childline Malaysia and Sheila Donovan of Child Helpline International.
