The Stigma of Being an Orphan

Jia Huai shares her story of being abandoned by her father at age two, losing her mother to cancer a few years after that, and what kept her going and thriving at school despite the stigma of coming from a home. SHELTER’s general manager Ng Geok Bee explains the work SHELTER does and how it is helping the other at-risk children like Jia Huai. Jia Huai will be climbing Mount Kinabalu to raise RM100,000 for current children at SHELTER as well as meeting their education needs.
