Laws Governing Places of Worship in Malaysia

Back in April 2015, Muslim residents in Taman Medan staged a protest outside the Community of Praise Petaling Jaya Church. They claimed the cross on the front of the building that housed the church was a challenge to Islam, and could influence young Muslims. Questions over the legality of the church were also raised.

What does the law say with regard to town planning approval and other such matters, when it comes to places of worship in Malaysia?

Rajiv Rishyakaran, State Assemblyman for Bukit Gasing, gives us some answers in his monthly show with us.
