The Malaysian Insider released a statement on the afternoon of March 14th that begins with the line "Goodbye readers from near and far..." It goes on to announce that The Edge Media Group has decided to shut down the news portal, effective midnight. Editor Jahabar Sadiq shares his thoughts about the website's closing after eight years and 18 days.
