The International Organisation for Migration, or IOM, is an international organisation working in the field of migration, promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. IOM works closely with governments, NGOs and migrants. It upholds the right to freedom of movement and believes migration will bring positive economic, social and cultural development to any host country. Explaining IOM’s role in addressing the migration crisis is Director-General of IOM, Ambassador William Lacy Swing.
