Malaysia’s First Cyber Court

According to CyberSecurity Malaysia, a government agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, as many as 30 Malaysians fall victim to cybercrime everyday. This alarming statistic prompted the setting up of Malaysia’s first cyber court, which began its operations last month. A.J. Surin is the author of “Cyber Law and its Implications,” a book on the intersection of law, communications, and the internet, explains why such a court is needed as well as the types of cases this cyber court will hear.
