World TB Day 2018

Dr Richard Fong, Geneticist and Genomics Specialist

27-Mar-18 16:00

World TB Day 2018

World Tuberculosis (TB) Day is observed on March 24 of each year to raise awareness that TB is the top infectious disease killer in the world. Even more concerning is that new drugs once thought to provide hope for disease elimination, are now starting to fail as TB bugs gain resistance. Geneticist Dr Richard Fong uses his expertise in genomics to develop faster, cheaper and accurate diagnostic tools for infectious diseases like TB, with the potential to improve the elimination of TB one day.
