Most elite athletes begin training at a young age, and over the years, there have been no shortage of athletes that have made a mark in their careers even before they reach adulthood. Think of athletes like Nur Dhabitah Sabri, Aaliyah Yoong, Lee Chong Wei and many more from Malaysia as well as overseas. But what are the pressures that come with training as an elite athlete from a young age? And how does all the training affect their growth? We speak to consultant orthopaedic surgeon Dr Harjeet Singh and trainer & coach Sheldon Xavier to find out more.
