The State of Men’s Health

Men’s health is largely under-recognised in mainstream healthcare. Yet we are finally starting to catch up to the idea that the male population has specific health challenges that urgently need a public health approach for prevention and management. However, before we can implement strategies to promote men’s health, we need national policies and data that is representative of men from different walks of life in Malaysia. In light of this, we speak to Dr Zakiah bt Mohd Said, Public Health Physician from the Adult Health Sector in the Ministry of Health’s Family Health Development Division, for the national perspective of men’s health; and Prof Alan White, Emeritus Professor of Men's Health from Leeds Beckett University, who will share how men’s health is finally being approached within the global agenda.
