Surgical Treatment for the Obese?

New figures show there are now 124 million obese children worldwide. Alongside the report, the World Obesity Federation also suggests that the global cost of treating obesity will rise to $1.2tn a year from 2025. When the average obese person is a lot younger, will that change obesity management in the healthcare sector? Will it present more complex health problems to a much younger patient profile? And what is the role of surgery in the multi-disciplinary approach to obesity management?
