Malaysia is ranked sixth in the Asia-Pacific region for obesity and tops the list in South-East Asia for both obesity and diabetes. With that in mind, it's become a cause for concern for both the medical fraternity and the population at large. One option to solve this is bariatric surgery, and helping us understand the benefits as well as side effects of this procedure is Dr. Andrea Ooi, consultant bariatric surgeon.
