Healthcare in a Pandemic #1: Essential Workers

Throughout the pandemic, our healthcare frontliners have been hailed as heroes for their work in caring for COVID-19 patients. We’ve all seen the pictures of doctors and nurses exhausted after spending their entire shift treating patients in their full PPEs. But tributes aside, are our frontliners given the treatment and remuneration they deserve? And who else should be recognised as essential workers in healthcare? In the first of our short series, Healthcare in a Pandemic, we discuss how we can treat all our essential workers in healthcare better with public policy specialist, Dr Khor Swee Kheng.
