Doctor in the House: VIP Syndrome

Dr George Lee returns to discuss the latest medical news. Expect deep insights delivered with generous humour. Over the weekend, Singapore PM Lee Hsien Loong fainted as he was delivering a speech during a National Day rally. After about 20 minutes, Lee returned to the stage to finish his speech but not before saying he’s never had so many doctors look at him at once. So what is it like to provide medical care to a VIP? And is it fair that they get “so many doctors” attending to them at once, while the rest of us have to deal with the standard bureaucracy of paperwork, protocol, waiting list and questionable bedside manners?
