The Cost of Medicine under the Trans-Pacific Partnership

A controversial negotiation has come this far. Since we last checked in with Policy Manager at the Malaysian AIDS Council, Fifa Rahman, on the TPP, a lot has taken place: TPP documents were released to the public, the Dewan Rakyat sitting to discuss the TPP is scheduled for January 26 and 27, and the Ministry of International Trade and Industry launched a booklet to explain TPP in simple terms. But without a pass from the US Congress, the whole agreement could fail. Fifa Rahman and Firdaos Rosli, Fellow in Economics at the Institute of Strategic and International Studies explain what this means for the future of the healthcare industry.
