Embracing Menopause #3: Why Vaginal Health is Important For Women in Menopause

Women in menopause tend to dismiss symptoms related to the genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) such as bladder incontinence, vaginal dryness, painful intercourse and bleeding during sex. In the final of a 3-part series on menopause, we speak to Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Dr Premitha Damodaran, about the effects of menopause on vaginal, urinary and sexual functions, and why it’s important to recognise and support women who are going through these issues. Dr Premitha is also Chair of the Development Group for the Clinical Practice Guidelines on Management of Menopause in Malaysia 2023.
